Nostalgic Valentine’s Day Crafts: A Handmade Series to Spark Joy
There’s something so special about handmade Valentine crafts. They hold memories, meaning, and a sense of comfort that store‑bought decor just can’t replicate. This year, I invited you into my studio for Nostalgic Valentine’s Day Crafts—a 14‑day creative series focused on bringing back handmade projects from the past to spark creativity, connection, and a little extra love.
From paper garlands to brooches, yarn flowers to glitter globes, each project was designed to be approachable, joyful, and rooted in nostalgia. If you missed any days—or want to revisit your favorites—here’s a full recap of every craft from the series.

The Nostalgic Valentine’s Day Tutorials
Day 1: Heart Pipe Cleaner Garland
We kicked off the series with a super simple craft—no fancy tools required! We made a heart pipe cleaner garland that’s perfect for a mantel, shelf, or doorway. Sparkly pipe cleaners are my favorite, but any color works.
Day 2: Layered Needle Felted Hearts
We took needle felting one step further by layering two felted hearts together for extra texture and dimension. This project showed how easy it is to build on a basic technique and create something gift‑worthy with just a few extra steps. If you want to learn more about needle felting, please enjoy this BEGINNER FRIENDLY COURSE I created just for you! Please use the code “FELT” for 50% off.
Day 3: Romantic Vintage-Inspired Valentine’s Day Card
Day 3 was all about the art of a romantic, handwritten Valentine’s Day card. With 2026 being the year of analog, this is your reminder to slow down, pick up your craft supplies, and create something heartfelt—and maybe a little over the top.
Day 4: Miniature Pipe Cleaner Heart Wreath
A fan-favorite craft with a Valentine twist—mini pipe cleaner wreaths, shaped into the sweetest little hearts. Tiny, whimsical, and full of handmade charm… aren’t these the cutest?
Day 5: Vintage‑Inspired Valentine Card Wreath
Vintage Valentine cards are adorable—but often pricey. This wreath used affordable vintage‑inspired cards layered onto a heart wreath form to create a nostalgic, statement‑making door decoration.
Day 6: Paper Chain Heart Garland
Proof that you don’t need to spend much to make something special. Using cardstock strips and a stapler, we made a classic paper chain garland—this time shaped into hearts and styled in a soft pink ombré.
Day 7: Metal Embossed Brooch
This project introduced metal embossing, a beautiful and surprisingly simple technique. Using thin metal sheets, a stencil, and an embossing pen, we created elegant brooches that feel both vintage and modern.
Day 8: Thrifted Foil Flower Brooch
Estate‑sale finds took center stage in this craft. Embossed foil paper and vintage jewelry were transformed into a whimsical flower brooch using a Clover Flower Frill Template. A great reminder that thrifted treasures make the best craft supplies.
Day 9: Mini Glitter Globe Valentine Treat Jar
Inspired by childhood snow globe collections, this project turned a mason jar into a magical glitter globe topper—then filled the jar with sweet Valentine treats. Equal parts decor and gift.
Day 10: Tissue Paper Heart Art
Day 10 revisited a childhood favorite—turning tissue paper into sweet Valentine art. With cardstock, tissue paper, and Beacon’s ZipDry, this textured heart came together one tiny square at a time.
Day 11: DIY Heart Yarn Garland
Trying out an I-Cord knitting machine (Caydo’s i-Pro Knitting Machine) for the first time and turning cozy yarn cords into the sweetest heart garland. Hands-free, a little magical, and full of handmade charm—this texture has my heart, and I’m already dreaming up more ways to use it.
Day 12: Fabric Scrap Heart Wreath
A nod to traditional scrap rugs, this wreath used torn fabric strips knotted onto a heart wreath form. Cozy, colorful, and perfect for curling up with a movie while crafting.
Day 13: Yarn Flower Valentine
Inspired by childhood yarn flowers, this elevated version used I‑cord yarn and craft wire shaped into a tulip. A heartfelt handmade gift that blends nostalgia with modern tools.
Day 14: Conversation Heart Wreath
To close out the series, we decorated with a Valentine classic: conversation hearts. Glued onto a ribbon‑wrapped wreath form, this sweet project reminded us that crafting should be playful, imperfect, and full of joy.
A Creative Love Letter
This series wasn’t about perfection or productivity—it was about creating just for the fun of it. My hope is that these projects inspired you to slow down, try something new, and rediscover the joy of making things with your hands.
Thank you for crafting along with me, cheering me on, and being part of this creative journey. If you made any of these projects, I would love to see them—and I’d love to know which craft was your favorite.
Here’s to nostalgia, handmade joy, and many more creative moments ahead 💕
