A Bathroom with Personality: Inside the Country Peony Studio Bathroom
When designing my creative studio, I wanted every square inch to reflect joy, charm, and intentionality—including the smallest space of all: the bathroom. At just 60 square feet, this tiny room packs a mighty punch, bursting with color, vintage flair, and whimsical personality.

The Inspiration Begins with Wallpaper
Every design needs a starting point, and for me, it all began with the wallpaper. I’ve been a longtime admirer of Lulie Wallace’s art, and her Suzanna Wallpaper instantly captured my heart. Its delicate florals in pink, green, and blue background felt like a celebration of creativity and femininity—the perfect vibe for my studio’s bathroom. This wallpaper became the anchor for the space.
A Pop of Peach and Plenty of Charm
To balance the delicacy of the wallpaper, I added a chunky wainscoting along the bottom half of the walls, painted in Valspar’s Pretty in Peach. The soft, peachy tone pulls beautifully from the floral pattern and adds depth, warmth, and a playful sophistication that doesn’t feel too juvenile.
The Tile That Almost Wasn’t
When I dreamed of a statement floor, I envisioned something vintage-inspired with a floral twist. Custom tile quotes nearly derailed that plan—until my big brother Joe stepped in. Using pink and sage hexagonal tiles from The Tile Shop, we created a custom floral motif inset into classic white tile. It’s one of my favorite elements in the room—a true labor of love and a testament to teamwork!

Jewelry for the Room: The Lighting
Lighting is the jewelry of any space, and I knew I wanted something with sparkle and charm. I found the perfect pieces from Homary: the Modern Gold 3-Light Glass Globe overhead and two matching 1-Light Sconces flanking the mirror. Their soft glow and elegant brass accents bring so much life and warmth to the room. They truly make the space shine and I love their modern flair!
Don’t Forget the Ceiling
One of the most underrated surfaces in any room? The ceiling. To give this little bathroom even more personality, I installed a Victorian-style white tin ceiling from The Tin Man. Its subtle shine adds texture and vintage charm that completes the look from top to bottom.
It’s All in the Details
To complement the ornate ceiling, I couldn’t resist adding a Bella-patterned register from Pacific Registers. Yes, it cost more than your typical vent cover, but I believe the smallest details make the biggest impact. A simple pedestal sink from Pottery Barn, paired with a brass faucet from Amazon, rounds out the room in timeless elegance.
A Contrast to the Clean Studio Space
While the main studio features clean white shiplap in Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace for a fresh, photo-ready backdrop, I gave myself permission to go bold and ultra-feminine in the bathroom. The contrast is intentional—and so satisfying! It’s a colorful little escape, and every time I walk in, it makes me smile.
In the end, this bathroom may be small, but it’s big on personality. It’s a joyful, layered space that feels personal, creative, and so very me. I can’t wait to welcome visitors to the studio—and show off this hidden gem tucked behind the scenes.
