A Whimsical & Cottage-Inspired Christmas at the Studio

DIY

Welcome to my Whimsical Cottage Holiday Tour at the Country Peony Studio!

I am so thrilled to kick off this year’s Christmas season by sharing a peek inside my festive craft studio—decorated in true Country Peony fashion: colorful, cheerful, cozy, and full of handmade charm. Even more exciting, I’m joining 35 other bloggers who are also opening their doors and sharing their beautiful holiday spaces. You can find links to all of their inspiring tours at the end of this blog post!

Before we get to the tour, please enjoy this video walk through of the space for Christmas!

A Colorful Cottage Tree

The star of the studio is my 7-foot colorful flocked Christmas tree from King of Christmas, standing tall and glowing with layers of handmade and collected decor. I dressed it in:

  • Colorful baubles

  • Velvet bows

  • Paper stars I crafted myself

  • A handmade gingham ribbon paper chain garland

  • A big, cheerful bow topper

  • A dreamy tulle tree skirt

It’s truly a creative Christmas tree that brings together all of my favorite hues, textures, and handmade touches.

A Maximalist Mantel Moment

My mantel got the full cottage treatment this year, overflowing with festive color and sparkle. It’s decorated with:

  • A handmade colorful bauble garland

  • Flocked greenery

  • Velvet ribbons

  • Glittered village houses from Anthropologie

  • Disco balls for an extra shimmer of joy

Maximalism at Christmas just feels right—especially in a studio filled with creativity and bright inspiration!

Bottlebrush Trees & Vintage Charm

Next to the soft light of the kitchen window, my bottlebrush tree collection sits proudly on the sill. They’re paired with my pink sink and pink refrigerator, which couldn’t look more perfect for the season.

And right beside them? My beloved Santa mug collection, all perched in their cheerful spots like little holiday characters waiting to spread joy.

A Pretty Pink Tree With Cottage Whimsy

Of course, one Christmas tree wasn’t enough! My pink tree also makes an appearance—decked out with:

  • Charming advent house ornaments

  • More colorful baubles

  • Velvet bows

  • Handmade touches

  • Oversized gingham bow topper

It’s sweet, nostalgic, and perfectly whimsical.

Even the Bathroom Got Festive

No room is left behind in the Country Peony Studio! The bathroom features a small Christmas village and whimsical little wreaths for an extra sprinkle of merry magic.
